Generators are made by more than a dozen companies. Finding the right one for you should not be so difficult as you might think. One of the first issues is what is your purpose for it. Is it intended to be a weekend retreat that runs during the day but not at night? How much are you willing to spend because some generators run on things like price, voltage, fuel types and much more. Also don’t forget that if you want a reliable generator to keep you and your family warm during a power failure then plan ahead. Not all generators are strong enough to power the needs of your entire home. The great majority need a place to run outside and it would be much easier on your state of mind if the generator were automated. Meaning it kicks in if your regular power fails. That kind of reliability is expensive but it is possible you should consider that as one of your priorities.
You may also need a fuel storage place. Now some tanks are small and hold a few gallons while others may hold dozens.
Remember, no matter what generator you buy study the facts carefully. This way you’ll not forget the goals you start and finish with.
